Childhood.

Childhood seems lifetime ago, a world now lost, forgotten.
We all have aged, we all have grown
Yet keep that child ‘twas once begotten.
Until a mem’ry flashes forth, we don’t recall that little ember.
And still how soft, how sweet, how dear,
Our childhood selves at times remember.
